Tip of the day
I've recently started using the tag "daily" on any web site which I'd like to keep track of, on a daily basis. This way I only need to search for that tag and have all the sites in-view in seconds.
This is, of course, assuming that the site does not support RSS, which will supply the latest headlines of the updates from that site to your RSS reader allowing you to read the detail of the interesting headlines at leisure. I recommend Sharpreader as a free and useful RSS reader.
Now here's a nother trick. If the site does not have an RSS feed or if you simply want the news on anything your heart desires, you can use Google News. Here's how:
1)Install an RSS reader like Sharpreader
2) Open Google News in your browser
3) Search for whatever you would like to receive news about, on a daily basis (be as specific as possible) e.g. "Typhoid" instead of "disease"
4) on the results page, to the left, click on the RSS link and your RSS reader should automatically detect that feed and add it to your RSS subscriptions. If it doesn't happen automatically, copy the address or link-location from the link and add it into your RSS reader.
This way you can have an RSS feed about whatever your heart desires...(almost)

Using an RSS reader you can also get updates fresh from your favourite Stumbler, by subscribing to the RSS link at the bottom of their page. Do them the courtesy of visiting their page in person every so often even if you're using RSS.

Important Update
On tiffanycartier's recent comment we are reminded of the legal dangers of linking to other sites to display an image. This should be avoided in favour of hosting the image on Imageshack, photoBucket or one of the image-hosting sites. Alternately, remember to obtain permission and/or credit the artist/owner where applicable. See my previous comment
That will probably put a dent in the usefulness of the tool because imageshack provides the HTML to place in your SU comments/reviews. If someone still finds the generator useful, that's good.

Version 3 of my HTML generator, to allow you to easily generate the HTML for links and/or images in your StumbleUpon reviews.
It requires JavaScript access to be enabled in your browser for it to work. There is no dodgy code, only wholesome goodness for the SU crowd :-)

I've increased the functionality of the Link generator tool. The tool will allow you to easily generate the HTML for placing links and/or images in your SU articles/reviews.
Features now include:
1) Links and/or Images
2) Links with or withour text
3) Open links in new window
4) Specify image URL
5) Align Images
6) Include image Border or not
7) Specify Image width and height via percentage (specify or preset) of original size or pixel size.
8) HTML Automatically generated after field is upated
9) less screen real-estate used
10) More Hints and interface neater
The Tool is still available for online use at my geocities page (wish I could host it on my SU page...) Online Link Generator v3 |

Another option is to use the bookmarklet I wrote called Advanced PhotoBlog. It has most of the same features but works from a bookmarklet. APB only works on Mozilla browsers, sorry. |
