(like below is page rendering time test)
firefox.group.stumbleupon.com/forum/42144/30/ [firefox.group.stumbleupon.com/forum/42144/30/]
Anyway I decided to download a few extensions to NetScape 8.1, even though it said extensions weren't available. I just went to the Mozilla Firefox extension tried two of the essential ones first:
Adblock Plus 0.7.0.1
Adblock FiltersetG.updater 0.3.0.4
and these work great with Netscape 8.1 to my surprise
next I tried:
Search Engine Ordering
Search Engine Wizard
(Neither work)
so I moved on to Stumbleupon:
StumbleUpon 2.78
loaded, great!, restarted Browser
ok initailly it is at the top of the browser about an inch or more wide. No worries.
I sign in and customize the toolbar and set it to the status bar and it works like a dream.
ok thats about it, just in case anybody who may be using the Netscape Browser 8.1 or what to test it out
some Firefox extensions work because Netscape 8.1 is built Firefox 1.5:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20060127 Netscape/8.1
after further testing of StumbleUpon in Netscape 8.1 all the functions seem to work smoothly, I can stumble, thumb, tag, etc. |

If Stumbleupon would work with Opera we could stumble on our cell phones with Opera Mini.
That would be cool. |

I think I will keep Netscape to test extensions on a developer level, especially since Adblock plus and Adblock filterset.G updater and stumbleupon work on it. |

Sponsor | konradc | Jun 3, 2006 11:56pm | #5: The thread is referring to FF for Linux. I believe #4 is looking for a Windows 64-bit version of FF. While there is no official Win64 release, someone has made available their own Win64 precompiled versions as well as instructions on how to compile it yourself if you don't trust them.
Have a look at:
mozilla-x86-64.com/download.html [mozilla-x86-64.com/download.html]
Yes, it's version 1.6a1 and no I haven't tried it myself. NOTE: Java won't work. Perhaps that's a good thing :) |
